This was a limited edition item from winter season 2013… and just over a year later, I finally get around to opening it up!  This whipped body butter features one of my all time preferred fragrances: Kiehl’s Coriander Essence Oil (which is now discontinued.  Of course it is.  Everything I love gets discontinued…!)

I was quite thrilled to see the Coriander scent released in the form a body butter.  I had never tried Kiehl’s Creme de Corps lotion or body butter before, but I got over the initial sticker shock ($46 for body butter?!) and purchased this during the friends and family sale (20% off).

The most significant draw of this body butter for me is the Coriander scent so I’ll describe the fragrance.  The idea of a herb smell doesn’t sound appealing, does it?  The notes in the Essence Oil are: coriander oil, orange oil and patchouli.  The patchouli is very faint (I’m not typically a fan of patchouli) and to me, this smells mostly like turf mixed with a bit of spice and citrus.  I honestly think this scent ought to have been renamed to turf spice or Green Citrus, and maybe it would have been much more appealing.  The scent is fresh but not juvenile and it evokes casual weekends shopping for artisan vegetables at a farmers market (that’s what I imagine anyway).  The Coriander scent is captured true to the original Essence Oil in this body butter.

The body butter is a bright, practically synthetic looking, shade of yellow.  Its essential ingredients are shea butter, squalane, jojoba oil, and beta-carotene. only a small amount of the body butter is needed per application – it feels light and silky, and not greasy on the skin due to its whipped texture.  It’s not as rich as other body butters like The Body Shop’s or one of my favourites, the Biotherm Beurre Corporel Body Butter (I have both [unopened] in my stash) but this gets the job done. I’m enjoying using this and will be sad once it’s gone.  I hope Kiehl’s repeats this scent in the future.

I have another Kiehl’s Creme de Corps Whipped Body Butter in my stash from just this past holiday season, the Soy Milk & Honey scent (which also smells amazing), in the limited edition Craig & Karl developed jar (you’ll notice a pattern here, I’m a sucker for all things limited edition).  I’ll probably get around to opening that jar next winter, at the rate I’m going!

Du vet, jag har checkat ut i många år att använda exakt samma färg från huvud till tå kan små kvinnor vara längre, liksom ja, det är en stor fördel att använda en monokromatisk outfit. Jag gillar också det jag sedan det gör det så mycket mycket lättare att klä på morgonen! Det är kul att inte tro på vad som är för vad du vet?

Jag har haft mycket mer monokromatiska outfits, så jag tror på att lägga till några jumpsuits, som den här av atlita, till min garderob (även om jag inte är otroligt angelägen om att du måste shimmy i såväl som en när jag kräver att se toaletten).

This is the first month that I’m back in the black because my overspending back in June. I had $108.32 to spend. and boy, did I spend every single penny!

It’s not much to look at but one of those items accounted for 80% of the total. and oh yea, I overspent. Om igen. just a tiny bit.

• trip the Light fantastic Powder in highly Illogical

I only purchased this because I found a gift card from Hudson’s Bay in a pile of old mail / papers. I used to be awful at keeping track of and spending gift cards. In this pile of mail, I came across a thank you note from an old colleague of mine. She was thanking me for hauling a bunch of clothes and shoes from a Hong Kong trip for her kids (I got her some awesome deals, I can haggle like you can’t believe) five years ago. So to thank me, she gave me a $50 gift card. So it went to a good cause:

I saw this collection swatched on a few blogs (especially here, here and here) and every time, these trip the Light fantastic Powders were drawing me in… this particular shade is a bronzey plum colour that’s pretty distinct to my collection. My sister, who is the real Trekkie, would be proud. (this was C$39.50 but not counted toward my accountability total because I used a gift card)

I purchased this due to curiosity and a recommendation from Grieta of TO charm ‘n Beyond. but then I just read from pretty Ruff Life (formerly known as ClassicMaggic!) that she hated the clumpy formula. I shall have to test it for myself!

• Valcena Multi active Régénérative night cream – I forgot to mention this last month actually. I went searching for this after reading a glowing review on it on fivezero’s blog. I found it at a newly opened Winners location, and then I proceeded to clear them out of their entire stock of this item. I’m keeping 1 jar and the rest are going to fivezero!

• Valcena Roller Glacé Eye Contour cream – this could possibly be a rollerball eye cream. I have a thing for rollerball eye products. I love how all of the Valcena products are shrink wrapped and display the expiry dates too. Both the night cream and this expire in 2019!

Bourjois glamour chic and glamour Fantasy eau de parfum

These were $15 each and I was curious about them because I’d purchased another Bourjois perfume before (Soir de Paris) and I found the quality to be surprisingly good. Out of these 2, I choose the chic one better – it’s a powdery smell that’s vanilla-y and warm. glamour fantasy has notes of sour cherry, raspberry and patchouli – what was I thinking? I kind of wished I’d picked up the “Lovely” version which is mainly a rose scent. The bottles are so cute.

As soon as October 1st rolled around, I had my makeup budget burning a hole in my pocket, I ran out to my preferred nail polish supply place to scoop up some of the Essie fall Tokyo collection (plus a couple of others):

• playing Koi (this was my #1 pick from the collection!)
• now and Zen (I’m kind of thinking this might be a cousin of Maximillian-Strasse-Her?)
• Go Go Geisha (yes, another grey… I can’t seem to get enough)
• Udon know Me (I got this for the name!)

• objective to Misbehave (this shade is so ugly, it’s pretty – it’s also Essie’s 1000th shade so I had to get it from the clearance bin)
• Passport to happiness (Bridal 2016 collection – found this in the clearance bin – fivezero evaluated this here)

Somehow my bill for the 6 polishes rang up to only $23.94 which implies I got these for $3.99 each!

And the grand total for makeup purchases in October is… $111.91. I went over by $3.62.  That Clé de Peau Concealer really did me in.  For November, I had allocated $200 to accommodate the Sephora VIB sale, and now deducting the overspending I have $196.38 to spend. As this post is going up, I’m already knee deep in my Sephora VIB shopping… I’m going to call it now: November Accountability will be a gong show.  I mean, I haven’t even factored in Black Friday!!!

I have one more skincare evaluation because in September I completed up all of my skincare as well as rather than purchasing more (due to No-Buy), I lastly cracked open a lot of products in my stash.  The Mandom barrier repair work Concentrate Serum is a product that I had checked out numerous on the internet rave evaluations as well as had been keen on trying it out for myself. I bought this in December 2014 from Sasa.com, at $16 for 60g.

The bottle is available in a clam-shell packaging that thankfully did not need bolt-cutters to open.  The infant on the packaging type of freaks me out.

This product is made in Japan as well as for distribution outside Japan, they slapped on this English label with directions as well as warnings.  The essential component in this serum is my HG hydrating ingredient: hyaluronic acid. It’s to the point now that I decline to purchase serums that insurance claim to be hydrating without hyaluronic acid in the component listing (preferably in the top components – this serum listings it sixth).

I’ll cut to the chase: this serum is AMAZING. It takes in in easily, leaves no sticky film, as well as keeps my skin supple with the whole day. I’m rather enamoured by it.  A couple of pumps covers my whole deal with – I apply this after my toner, as well as let it take in into my skin (about 5 mins) as well as then apply my deal with lotion on top. The serum is milky with a gel consistency as well as no fragrance.  I’ve discovered it to work well under all type of foundations.  The components are all typically rated well on Cosdna.

So having stated all that… I just discovered out that this serum is discontinued! obviously it occurred toward the end of 2014 – I should have just purchased it as it was being phased out.  How disappointing as well as baffling. RANT: Why do business pull this crap? This serum was no question Mandom’s finest seller – did they choose they didn’t want to be in company anymore? This reminds me of the time when Sofina discontinued their many prominent item, the ideal UV Lucent SPF50+ PA+++ sunscreen. That sunscreen was my introduction to the Sofina brand, as I’m sure was the situation for numerous others.  Since then, I’ve never purchased one more product from Sofina again. as well as the exact same will occur with Mandom. Their website only listings sheet masks now. I assumption it’s much more profitable to offer sheet masks soaked in the serum than selling the serum itself?  HUGE head scratching on this one. RANT OVER!

Jag har precis avslutat det här roliga träningspasset för quads och kärna från Sydney, min favorit fitnessvän (i mitt sinne, jag är hennes träningsbestånd, lol!). Inte ett ton hopp i denna träning, som mina fötter gillar. Och när jag var klar, hade min kropp den fantastiska lösenformiga känslan.

Rosie, som hennes föregångare, har många intressen såväl som mycket mer än ett par sida. Hon innebär också att dra full nytta av avmattningen på huskontoret för att gå efter sina egna projekt, liksom hon började en av dem i helgen.

A glowing look for an action-packed day! (Inte riktigt.)
This is one of those looks I didn’t do for any reason in particular other than it seemed like fun, because I ended up only sitting around the house like this, but dang if it wasn’t still fun! and I’ve got the pictures to save it for posterity!

I wish I’d thought of someplace interesting to take it out for a spin, even though I have low-key anxiety now around large groups of people. Soft, sparkling lids like this should have to see the world, haha!

I didn’t really plan on this color palette with bronzes and soft beige-pinks. It just kind of happened, but I love how it turned out. It’s so delicate and girly, and it reminds me a little bit of the pink blush shades ballet dancers wear in their leotards, tights and tutus.

The glowing goodness happening on my lids comes courtesy of the magical naturally Glam Eye shadow kit by Jane Iredale. They’re a cruelty-free line that does mineral makeup.

Have you ever put something on — I dunno, a bra or a pair of jeans or a tee shirt — that instantly lights you up and makes you feel good? That’s what happened to me with this palette. The powders have that best balance of pearl and pigment, and they’re awfully flattering. They sparkle in a non-frosty and absolutely forgiving way, and the pigment packs just enough punch (I’d call it mid-level, considering that it’s absolutely NOT full-blown intensity) to delicately define lids and lash lines.

Jane Iredale Naturall Glam Eye shadow Kit
For this look, I buffed the golden beige (the one in the big circle) all over my lids as a base, then blended the gold (inner corner) and the mid-toned brown taupe (outer corner) directly on top. Then, I wet an angled liner brush and loaded it with the dark brown to line my lash lines. To finish the look, I tightlined with MAC Teddy, which goes great with this palette’s bronze vibe, and coated my lashes with mascara.

I pointed out to a friend of mine that I’ve been having major dinner Rage lately (FYI, it’s that feeling that kicks in about an hour before dinnertime when I realize that I have to make food YET AGAIN, hahaha), and she passed along her go-to baked chicken recipe for these days.

It’s a vinegar chicken with crushed olive dressing, and I made it the other day… It turned out OK, even though I under-seasoned it, because I always have a hard time when recipes call for you to just season things with salt and pepper at your will (I always end up erroring on the side of not seasoning enough).

Here’s the recipe in case you want to try it, by the way. Oh, and I ended up substituting the white wine vinegar with apple cider vinegar and using dried parsley instead of fresh because that’s what I had. If you make it, let me know how it goes!

since everybody is publishing their Black Friday loot, I believed I’d publish my optimal points spend Your points loot!  I did go into shoppers medication Mart (SDM) armed with a buying list, let’s see exactly how well I did staying with the plan:

Firstly, I ended up redeeming for $300 worth of products instead of $200. I had accumulated more points since hitting the top tier a bit while back. as well as since I’ve been positively deprived of new beauty products all year long (too dramatic?) that I went all out as well as depleted my optimal points balance. Also, neither places stocked any of the new Clinique Cheek Pop colours (I desired either Nude, Fig or Heather). I was likewise toying with getting a lipstick from Anna Sui however they didn’t bring the brand at those locations.  And I decided not to redeem for any type of skincare since it’s more fun to redeem for makeup!

The Guerlain as well as Clinique were on my original list, however for the Clinique lipstick I decided on the Bare Pop rather than the Melon Pop – it’s a more wearable colour for me. The Clarins lip oil has been on my radar for months as well as I thought it’ll be great for the upcoming chillier weather.

I wished to redeem for a combination as well as it was a toss up between this or one of the Stila ones. The benefit Rockateur blush was on my original list, however neither of the Shiseido products were. These 3 were redeemed at the 2nd SDM place as well as at this point I just might not choose what to choose! I played around with some cream blushes (Stila Convertible Colour in Peony or Bourjois cream blush 04 wonderful Cherry almost made it into my basket) however then I spotted the Shiseido sheer as well as perfect powder, which is the corresponding powder to one of my HG foundations, so I had to get that.  The Shiseido eye shadow trio I mainly got to blend with a few of the other Shiseido trios I already own – the colours are all staples, as well as the structures are just divine.

(I may have gone somewhat over $300 ) The SDM sales associates who assisted me were lovely as well as patient even though it was rather hectic in the beauty Boutiques, understandably!  I question what is the most prominent product that people redeem for?
